I first found this cafe when I was on tour. I had a gig at Foolscap Books, which is across the street from the Sweet Life. We went there for coffee and dessert in the middle of the afternoon and Celeste the bass player, after having their vegan pumpkin muffin, declared she'd never had such an incredible pumpkin muffin, vegan or not. After the show, we went over there again and I couldn't finish the chocolate mint tart I ordered, it was so rich. Two years later, the cafe and its chocolate figured prominently in the re-ignition of what I thought was a lost love.
